Air Max 90 20th Anniversary releases

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the legendary Air Max 90, Nike has released a handful of ultra premium sneakers that include materials such as snakeskin and crocodile.

I cant say I have ever been a fan of snakeskin sneakers and this doesnt change my opinion. However, the dark colored crocodile material looks great on this style sneaker. Crocodile can easily be overdone and tacky but I find these pairs to be very clean.

Available in ultra limited quantities at Mental Kicks.

Yppah (I dont know how to pronounce it either.)

Okay, I know. You know its going to be interesting when even I cant even fake a sequence of sounds to represent a series of letters.

This is one of those times.

Well, lets just start this blog off with two things: Yppah is one guy and is signed to ninjatune. He put out a handful of nice remixes within the past year. Comment if you want them.

If that doesnt rouse your rabble, I dont know what to tell you.

A handful of uptempo, jazz fusion, smooth house music:

Nike Sportswear Dunk High X Nylon Magazine

After releasing a slew of photographs from the new shoot for Nylon Magazine, we are finally given a closer look at the absurdly bright collection.

These shoes consist of a nylon (get it??) and leather upper along with the Nylon font along the sides and a multicolor logo on the tongue. Although these are ridiculously bright sneakers, I enjoy the fact that they kept the design relatively simple and subdued. Clearly, these are not everyday sneakers but I think that any of these would look good in a collection.

Look out for the release soon.

Its beautiful out....drink a saison

This post doesnt have to do with any specific beer but more so an entire style of beer.

Saisons (french for season) are a delicious, refreshing pale ale hailing from the Belgian speaking farmhouses of the Wallonia region of France. These beers were created in the winter months and conditioned until late summer where the farm workers consumed the refreshing beer throughout the late harvest. Not only did it create a strong sense of morale throughout the workers after a long summer, it allowed them to stay hydrated without needing potable water.

To me, Saisons are a breed of quintessential beers. If you ever walked into a bar and just said "give me a beer," I see this being one of the few styles that any conn0isseur or any simpleton can enjoy.

This has become one of my favorite styles over the years so Ill share a few of my favorites with you:

Ommegang Hennepin
Saison Dupont
Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere
Saint Somewhere Saison Athene
Southampton Saison

Feel free to pick one of these up for a GREAT summer beer. You will thank me later.

Attack of the 7 foot be@rbricks!

For those who don't know, be@rbricks are collectible designer toys produced by Medicom. They started in 2001 and shortly thereafter began mass producing the toys and collaborating with popular artists such as Futura and HR Giger, designers such as Karl Lagerfield, brands including Coca Cola and boutiques such as Nort just to name a few.

Today, I present you with one of my favorite be@rbricks ever made. To celebrate the arrival of Black Commes De Garcons at London's famed Dover Street Market, Medicom brought out all the stops and created the largest be@rbricks known to mankind. For the most part, the be@rbricks come in 100% (~3 inches,) 400% (~11inches) and 1000% (~28 inches.)

This particular set is coming in at nearly 7 feet tall. Albeit a bit daunting with its large figure and dark facade, I would still LOVE to have this standing in the corner of my house.

New Pantha Du Prince 12"

After releasing one of my favorite electronic albums in the past few years, Pantha Du Prince continues his reign as one of the best minimal techno producers in all of the world. This new 12" consists of two songs that are nothing short of spectacular. Personally, I find Frozen Fog to be an amazing song that sort of sounds like some older Gui Boratto stuff (big compliment) and I will be using it in some mixes soon enough.

Proof that science is on my side

Scientists at Newcastle University's Center for life have recently discovered what I have known for an extremely long time.

Bacon sandwiches cure hangovers.

Here is a quote from the one of the representatives for the Center for Life:

"Bread is high in carbohydrates and bacon is full of protein, which breaks down into amino acids. Your body needs these amino acids, so eating them will make you feel good."

Ms Roberts told The Mirror: "Bingeing on alcohol depletes neurotransmitters too, but bacon contains a high level of aminos which tops these up, giving you a clearer head."

Researchers also found a complex chemical interaction in the cooking of bacon produces the winning combination of taste and smell which is almost irresistible.

The reaction between amino acids in the bacon and reducing sugars in the fat is what provides the sandwich with its appeal.

Ms Roberts said: "The smell of sizzling bacon in a pan is enough to tempt even the staunchest of vegetarians. There's something deeper going on inside. It's not just the idea of a tasty snack. There is some complex chemistry going on.

"Meat is made of mostly protein and water. Inside the protein, it's made up of building blocks we call amino acids. But also, you need some fat. Anyone who's been on a diet knows if you take all the fat from the meat, it just doesn't taste the same. We need some of the fat to give it the flavour."

Just beautiful.

Jordan 5 Defining Moments Pack - Raging Bull

After a lot of thought as to what my first post should be, I decided I should just let it come to me. During my usual blog rounds yesterday, I stumbled across the pre-sale of the Jordan 5 DMP - Raging Bull pack. For those who dont know, Jordan has been releasing a handful of sneakers as pairs throughout the past year, however, the majority of them being one ugly ass pair the other being a mediocre pair. However, what we see released here is a drastic change to previous releases. Jordan 5's have always been one of my favorite sneakers, clean lines, great flow and stellar attention to detail. As you can tell, nothing has changed here. This pack consists of a bright red pair consisting mostly of suede while the black pair is made of premium leather that has been dominated with 3m material for some extra pop.

Personally, I find these to be one of the best Jordan releases in the past 5 years and I truly hope they continue to release sneakers like this. The influx of fusion Jordans has lead to the creation of a handful of lackluster shoes and a loss of focus on older styles with fresh colors. Maybe the hype behind these sneakers will help show the Jordan organization that not all of us are hypebeasts that will buy anything they put out.

Probably not.
